Executive One-to-One Coaching
Your position gives you authority.
How you communicate gives you influence.
One-to-one communication coaching for chief executives, managing directors and senior leaders. Twelve sessions across the year, online or in person in Southampton.
What we work on
The communication that leadership demands
Every session works on one area of communication, from speaking and leading to giving feedback. You learn it, you deliver it, and you get feedback on it before it matters.
Across the year, the coaching covers the following.
Why coaching works
The feedback you stopped getting
Senior leaders are expected to give feedback. Very few of them still receive any.
Your team won’t tell you that your presentation didn’t land. Your board will comment on the numbers rather than on how you held the room. The more senior you become, the more careful everybody around you gets, and the harder it is to find out how you actually come across.
Sarina is not on your team, not on your board, and has nothing to manage in her relationship with you. You deliver, and you are told the truth about it.
How it runs
Twelve sessions, built around your year
Format
One-to-one with Sarina. Online, or in person in Southampton.
Sessions
Twelve across the year. The first runs to ninety minutes, as a proper diagnostic rather than an ordinary hour.
Booking
Booked as you need them, around what is actually coming up, rather than on a fixed day of the month.
You learn
A taught framework whenever you need one, from the work Sarina delivers to senior leaders and organisations. How to present and lead a team. How to give feedback. How to hold a difficult conversation.
You deliver
You deliver it, and you get feedback on it, before the people it matters to ever see it.
You apply it
You bring the situation you are actually facing, work out how to handle it, and leave knowing how to use it.
An audience
Four Breakthrough Speakers Club sessions a year, booked in advance, for when you want a room to deliver to.
Term
Twelve months. You can start whenever you are ready.
Confidentiality
Nothing leaves the room
This only works when members can bring the real situation, with the real names and the real numbers.
The conditions of the room
- Nothing discussed is repeated outside it.
- Nothing is recorded, unless you request filming to help with your delivery.
- Nothing is posted. Not the work, not the fact that we work together.
- What you bring can be genuinely live, including what has not been announced.
who is this for
The people this suits
- Chief executives, managing directors and C-suite directors.
- Founders of established businesses, past the stage of doing everything themselves.
- Senior leaders with genuine responsibility for people and for outcomes.
- People who are already able communicators, and who know that is not the same as being finished.
Next step
A conversation, before anything else
The next step is a private conversation with Sarina about where you are, what you are facing, and whether this is the right work for you now. No obligation on either side.
Practical questions
Before you decide
In large part, yes. Speaking is a substantial part of leadership, and presenting and high-stakes rooms sit at the front of the programme. The rest of the year covers the other communication a senior role demands: feedback, disagreement and the conversations that are hard to open.
It assumes you are. Everybody in the room got there by being able to hold their own. The work is on the harder end of the craft, and on the situations where being naturally capable stops being enough.
It depends on what is in front of you. Some sessions teach a framework and then put it straight to work. Others are given over entirely to something you are facing: a talk to build, a board meeting to prepare for, a conversation you have been circling. You deliver, and you get an honest account of how it came across.
Either, and most clients use both. In person is in Southampton. Online works well for preparation and review, and clients often use it for the sessions that sit close to an event.
Whenever you’re ready. This is not a cohort, so there is no intake to wait for. The year starts from your first session.
Sessions are booked as you need them rather than on a fixed day, so a moved week is not a problem. In practice most clients use them at roughly one a month, with more around the moments that matter.
There is a ninety day notice period. In practice Sarina applies it with common sense, and clients going through genuine difficulty have always been treated flexibly.
Yes, and some people do. The club gives you a room of peers once a month. The coaching gives you the private work and the preparation for specific moments. They are designed to sit together.
